Nothing special about it, besides the fact that&#8217;s is a beautiful orchestra of crowdsourced tweets that get aggregated to the <a href=\"http:\/\/uksnow.benmarsh.co.uk\/\">#uksnow Map 2.0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/FirefoxScreenSnapz182.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1323\" title=\"http:\/\/uksnow.benmarsh.co.uk\/\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/FirefoxScreenSnapz182-300x182.png\" alt=\"http:\/\/uksnow.benmarsh.co.uk\/\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/FirefoxScreenSnapz182-300x182.png 300w, https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/FirefoxScreenSnapz182-1023x621.png 1023w, https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/FirefoxScreenSnapz182.png 1243w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is this important?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While this is a single focus application, that will probably stop getting attention in a few days, there is no reason why anyone couldn&#8217;t go out and build generic mobile and web platforms that would enable such crowd-sourcing and trend aggregation around important public happenings.<\/p>\n<p>We already have great open software for this, e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ushahidi.com\/\">Ushahidi<\/a> could be a great platform to build on top of.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s snowing around Europe at the moment and Twitter is trending with term #uksnow.
