Many years of efforts of different individuals and organisations worked!<\/p>\n<p>What we learned:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slovenian Ministry of Public Information is continuing their efforts on <a href=\"http:\/\/data.gov.si\/nio\/\">NIO Portal<\/a> and they&#8217;re developing now solutions\u00a0and policies related to Open Data. There were more personal discussions on how we can help them with these efforts.<\/li>\n<li>There were other people present from different\u00a0Ministries and Government Services that\u00a0were all championing Open Data within their institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Developers are using different Open Data tools and projects within their institutions.\u00a0They promised to keep us updated, once they&#8217;re ready to release it to public.<\/li>\n<li>Journalists are still trying to figure out how to\u00a0position Data Journalism\/Visualisations within the failing Newspaper industry in Slovenia.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/danesjenovdan.si\/\">http:\/\/danesjenovdan.si\/<\/a> are working on much better version of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.delajozate.si\/\">http:\/\/www.delajozate.si\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>ARSO (Slovenian Weather Agency) has a Data Portal:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gis.arso.gov.si\/geoportal\/catalog\/main\/home.page\">http:\/\/gis.arso.gov.si\/geoportal\/catalog\/main\/home.page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Given the big amount of\u00a0interest, I&#8217;ll try to organise another event\u00a0in the fall, with talks and a bit more structure.<\/p>\n<p>Special thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/podcrto.si\/vabljeni-na-srecanje-open-data\/\">Podcrto<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fmf.uni-lj.si\/si\/obvestila\/33678\/\">FMF<\/a> and everyone that shared the news and attended.<\/p>\n<p>(Photo by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/crtahlin\">Crt Ahlin<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes people look back at certain points in time and say &#8211; we were too early.\u00a0When we started doing work on OpenData in Slovenia in 2010, there was interest but no critical mess yet (just a handful of people showed up for meetup).
