But she\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actually thinking of a state of mind, rather than the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Working with <strong>interesting constraints<\/strong>, that created opportunities and makes our work [of UX designers] interesting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Humble origins<\/strong>, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re standing at the crossroads at what we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re doing now, and what we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re doing in the future. The best we can do is to make the best of it.<\/p>\n<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s all about people, but the process matters too<\/p>\n<p>Caring for people won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t make a good experience, but it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the process.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholdeers -&gt; Planning -&gt; Saying No -&gt; Looking at content<\/p>\n<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not just about a process, but having <strong>a right process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>[Leah tells her life story]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Things are changing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Five tips for the team of one, involving:<\/p>\n<p>Lightweight tools &#8211; get comfortable with pen and paper. Pen and paper is important, because it signals to other people that this is the part where it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s allowed other people to give feedback<\/p>\n<p>Collaboration &#8211; Think big pictures. Put things on the wall, and create space for conversations to emerge &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/sketchboards\">http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/sketchboards<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Be a good host &#8211; Open our doors to <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Brainstorming\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brainstorming\">brainstorming<\/a> to other people who are not UX designers. Allow other people to start sharing. Every single one has an opinion how it should be done, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going to come out at one point or other. Better earlier than ever.<\/p>\n<p>Decorate your space &#8211; show your work as you work on it. People think of design as a finished product and don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t understand that it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a process and that they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re important part of the process.<\/p>\n<p>Clarify UX goals &#8211; Business needs + User needs = Design criteria.<\/p>\n<p>We all know that it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not enough to have business needs, or just user needs.
