A lot of people were inspired by this movie, in year 2001 four different companies started prototyping real world games that were inspired by this movie.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reality is broken<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>68% Americans report playing games in last two week<\/p>\n<p>92% kids under 18 play games every week<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>People feel that they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not good at their life.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>WoW example<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lots of people are there to help me. When I wake in the morning, there are not many allies that try to help me, I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get constant feedback, missions. I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get constant feedback how amazing I am.<\/p>\n<p>The WoW wiki &#8211; second largest wiki in the world, just after Wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p>People who edit this wiki feel really smart and produce something of a value to other readers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Games work better than reality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Better <strong>instructions<\/strong>; clear goals and you know when you succeeded, a great framework for when you acomplish things<\/p>\n<p>2) Better <strong>feedback<\/strong>; you get sense to be grounded in cause and effect<\/p>\n<p>3) Better <strong>emotions<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<p>4) Better <strong>community<\/strong>; we agreed to play by the same rules, we buy into methodology of the game etc. Secretly deep down we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re all happy that we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re collaborating.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We are witnessing what amounts to no less than a <strong>global mass exodus<\/strong> to virtual world and other online gaming environments.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u201d Economist Edward Castranova<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a <strong>quality of life<\/strong> problem<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And quality of life is just another way of saying \u00e2\u20ac\u0153user experience of reality\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>So what is the future of reality UX?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In order to see forward, we need to look at least twice as much back, as we want to see to the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>3k years ago, the first description of games.
