A year ago, I would say that running around the lake in tights in middle of December, falls under <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Extreme sport\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Extreme_sport\">extreme sports<\/a> and it&#8217;s not to be copied. Right now (week after), the whole notion of that being anything special, seems\u00a0ridiculous.<\/p>\n<p>What was happening? 4th St. Barbara run in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Velenje\" rel=\"geolocation\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=46.3666666667,15.1166666667&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=46.3666666667,15.1166666667 (Velenje)&amp;t=h\">Velenje<\/a>. It was a Relay race in teams of 4 people. Our team was named <a href=\"http:\/\/www.koornk.com\">Koornk<\/a> (after infamous Twitter clone \ud83d\ude09 &#8211; with members: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.koornk.com\/user\/Katja\/\">Katja<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.obutimacek.com\/\">Miha<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bufo.si\/\">Valentin<\/a>\u00a0and me.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve of coursed dress to the occasion:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_625\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-625\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-625\" title=\"Koornk team\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/dsc00579-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Koornk team\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/dsc00579-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.jurecuhalev.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/dsc00579-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-625\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Koornk team<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>End result? 25th team out of 39. Really nice for a team of recreational runners \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>What did I learn?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>running events are like big parties, sure you have to run for a while, but there&#8217;s a lot of stuff happening afterwards<\/li>\n<li>great spirit in the air with everyone playing nicely<\/li>\n<li>running together with other people gives you extra boost<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Relay race\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Relay_race\">relay race<\/a> is tricky since the whole team depends on you and there&#8217;s extra pressure<\/li>\n<li>it&#8217;s much easier then it looks \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Overall, I think I should start going to these events more often as it helps me to go out between fellow runners and learn a trick or two as well as give me extra boost for my solo runs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In short: if you have a chance (and physical fitness) to do such event.
