Here&#8217;s what they learned:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the project began and ran on beer. Frames and all that<\/li>\n<li>then they&#8217;ve figured out some database stuff until it crashed whole thing once again and page went offline for next 3 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>how not to run a project<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>project manager should be one person only. Shared responsibility is totally foo.<\/li>\n<li>prepare documentation in digital form. They&#8217;ve prepared most of the documentation around beer in different bars. Bartender arranged for a notes paper and pen and that was most of the the documentation.<\/li>\n<li>pick a framework: CMS, framework, custom? Just choose one and stop wandering around.<\/li>\n<li>decide roles and deadlines. It&#8217;s good to know this from the beginning so everyone knows what they should take care of.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/tainara\/243247972\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"mahyna.\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/95\/243247972_661a8f36bf_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>production &#8211; or you can&#8217;t live from fame and fortune<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>release soon and release often. No deadlines.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How do you recruit people?<\/strong> We don&#8217;t. If someone is interested they will find you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What does \u017dVPL run on?<\/strong> On Union.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was positive side of things?<\/strong> You learn and meet lots of people. It was nice to have a release out the doors and say that you&#8217;ve finished something.
