Founder and developer, Prevoz.org (December 2004 – Present)
Prevoz (“ride”) is the biggest local carpooling web site serving 2 million+ monthly page-views. Backend is developed in Python (Django) – https://prevoz.org/

Organizer WebCamp Ljubljana conference (2009 – 2017)
I organize and manage a team of volunteers that prepare a technical event for local web community. Our 2017 event was attended by 500+ people, with 30% attendees from other countries. – http://2017.webcamp.si/

Work History

Director of Technology, The Open Education Consortium (formerly The OpenCourseWare Consortium) (November 2012 – Present)

I am responsible for all the technology decisions and implementation inside the Consortium. I migrated monolithic Joomla Website/CRM/Search system into modern microservices based application pattern using WordPress, Django and Solr Search. This allowed us to implement modern design and much quicker development of new services for staff and members. We are now maintaining 5 major sites and a dozen of archive sites.

Additional responsibilities include consulting with our member institutions on technology choices, content metadata and evaluating new technological opportunities.

This is a remote position with staff and consortium members distributed globally in all time zones.

Product Manager and Developer, Viidea ltd. (January 2011 – March 2013)

I was responsible for product development and experience of user-facing side of Viidea’s platform. The work consists of transforming complex technology developed for VideoLectures.net into simple package that can be used by wider variety of institutions. I used Python (Django), HTML5/CSS and JavaScript (jQuery).

Additional responsibilities included marketing and basic copywriting, working with customers that need their conferences recorded and published on our platform and support for existing users of the platform.

User Experience Expert, MATIVY management GmbH. (March 2011 – January 2012)

Developed user experience and specifications for a desktop application in business project management field.

Community Manager, Flowr (January 2010 – March 2012)

Helped a small web startup launch the product, prepared and executed social media and marketing strategy.

User Experience Expert and Community Manager, Zemanta (July 2007 – September 2009)

Developed initial JavaScript and WordPress version of interactive widget. As company grew and acquired VC funding, shifted roll to community management and developer relations. Coordinated marketing work with partners and coworkers in New York and San Francisco.
