Python MySpace API proxy

Idea is to create a self sufficient web service that would provide missing MySpace API. There are limited capabilites right now with 3rd party solutions but are still somehow limited. This version would provide more complete support and relay on open-source based concept to make sure that community can quickly fix and upgrade the proxy when MySpace breaks things.

Of course proxy itself would implement standard REST/Soap/XML-RPC/.. interface so it would be up to developers how to use it. The only choice of technology would probably be in what to write the proxy.
Any interest in this?

Wouldn’t be easier to get such data through last.fm API?

Yes, let’s start!
I don’t know if last.fm provides an API, but i’d guess MySpace is the big fish here…

There is last.fm API: http://www.audioscrobbler.net/data/webservices/ that you can use to gather realtionships between artists.

Hmm, to start probably creating a project on code.google.com would be a good start.

Hey, I’m also in a deadly need of the Myspace API.

Project has been made. Python is my fav scripting language so it just fits.

If anyone has some initial code, can he kindly upload to the Google Project Hosting?
